Madison Obermeyer is currently interning at the Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com as a reporter. In August, she will return to Kansas State University for her senior year, where she studies Digital Journalism- Print in the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She is also pursuing a minor in French, which she has studied for seven years. From January to June 2018, Madison took a semester abroad in Liverpool, England, where she studied Communications, French, and Creative Writing. Madison is a contributing writer to the K-State Collegian on the Features, News, and Opinion and Reviews desks. During the winter break of her 2016/17 school year, she interned in the Features Department at The Wichita Eagle and Kansas.com, where she covered events ranging from Kwanzaa to a drive-by shooting. Madison held the position of Editor-in-Chief of Odyssey at K-State from July 2016 to August 2017 where she managed a team of 25+ writers, edited weekly articles based on AP style, tracked team credibility and aided creators with inspiration and encouragement while utilizing social media to promote the team. As a creator herself, she racked up over 33.3K page views and 90.3K engagements.
Madison is also a member of Chi Omega Fraternity at the Kappa Alpha chapter. Madison was slated as Vice President in November 2016 and served on the Executive Board through December 2017.
